On September 22, 2021 the government of Ontario will be requiring proof of vaccination (vaccination certificate) for individuals to enter a “non essential” business.
PARfect Swing is a hybrid business; a retail store that sells a wide range of golf related merchandise including clubs; and an indoor sport facility offering simulator golf play and practice.
The letter of the law appears to be as follows; If a customer enters PARfect Swing as a retail customer to make a retail purchase, we are not required to ask for proof of vaccination and corroborating identification. If a customer enters PARfect Swing as an indoor sport participant only (simulator play, lessons), we are required to ask for their vaccine certificate and ID.
Exceptions as follows; 1. Children under 12 will not need to show proof of vaccination
2. People under the age of 18 who are entering the indoor premises of a facility used for sports and recreational facilities solely for the purpose of actively participating in an organized sport
A reminder too that masks are still required upon entry but can be removed under the following circumstances. (These apply to employees and customers alike) to engage in an athletic or fitness activity OR
to eat or drink
Under the Ontario government’s regulation, fines for individuals who don’t comply with screening or those who present fraudulent documents will begin at $750 and fines for businesses will begin at $1,000
